1. Percents mean - Per (out of a) cent (hundred)

Why 100%? Because it is not only a friendly number, it is also just about right. Not to big, not to small, about in the middle.

What about 205% - 2 wholes
                              - equivalent fraction --> 205/100
                              - improper or top heavy

Means....(by T-Charts)

1% means - 1% of 100%
                 - 1/100

10% means - 10% of 100
                   - 100/10 or 40/10
                   - Divides by 10's

25% means - 25% of 100
                   - 100/4 or 40/4
                   - Half of 50
                   - Divides by 4's

50% means - 50% of 100
                   - 100/2 or 40/2
                   - Half
                   - Divides by 2's

100% means - 100% of 100%
                     - all, whole, everything, 1/100, /100

Symbol presents...

- Line in between the two zero's is the number one. It is also the divider for fractions.
- The two zero's represents the ends of the number 100
